STRIPERTHON 2010 Catch and Release Contest

The time has come to pick winner of the Surfcaster’s Journal  STRIPERTHON 2010 contest. We believe that STRIPERTHON 2010 with over one thousand participants is the largest season long catch and release contest in United States. We narrowed down the submissions to 15 pictures out of which you guys will choose 10 winners.

But before we do this, I want to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors for providing these wonderful prizes for our contestants. Not only that but their participation  is an evidence of their support for conservation and future of our fisheries..

Grand prize winner will receive the Penn Torque 5 Bailless reel in black  and Penn new Torque Surf Rod , courtesy of fine folks from Penn Reels and Pure Fishing.

First prize is Van Stall FP7000 Pier/Sheath combo which will be sent to the winner by the fine folks at Van Staal

Second prize if furnished by the rod builders whose name is synonymies with surf fishing, Lamiglas. Good folks at Lamiglas will be sending winner a Lamiglas Rod Surf and Jetty XS 10MHS rod

Third prize is generously donated by folks at Korkers who will be sending the winner a Korkers Guide boots in the desired size

Fourth prize consists of 5 beautiful lures donated by Salty’s Custom lures

Fifth prize is furnished by folks from Super Strike Lures, a set of 5 unique bunker colored lures.

Sixth prize comes to us from Lordship Lures and consist of 3 of their fish catching beauties

Seventh prize is donated by Big Water Lures, a truly unique set of giant pikes which can be also used with eel skins

Eight prize consist of another beautiful set of 5 bunker pattern lures from RI Popper lures

Ninth prize is furnished by RM Smith and consist of these 5 beautiful scaled lures.

Tenth prize is a $50 gift certificate to LI Outdoorsman, one of the premier tackle shops in NY. They will be sending the gift certificate to the winner
