I been away for few days and of course all the s!$# hits the fan as soon as I get on the road. I do have to tell you one thing, something that I will elaborate in the future….recently, some emails that I received, posts on some sites and personal conversations I had in Montauk last few days make me seriously reconsider writing this blog at all. There is so much negativity out there, directed towards people, products, places that I find very disturbing.

The mag was down for only 20 minutes on Thursday night while I was traveling. Thankfully I was able to talk my son via phone on how to upload the corrected issue. I love that kid…

Anyway Montauk was ok, one night I had 55 hits but only landed 15 fish whish goes to show that that so called “pros” are more like googans in disguise than anything else. That was a first night of fishing since Cuttyhunk were I actually fished first and worried about pictures, video and mag. Just fishing…forgot what that felt like.

    The negativity is the thing that is tearing the country apart, folks should be glad they live in the United States, they should give some other countries a shot at their constant bitching. Where else can you go into a Supermarket and be dazzled by all the food and other stuff there? Folks have had it so easy here that they don’t know how the rest of the world (outside of the Western World) lives… If they don’t like it, they should do us all a favor and emigrate elsewhere… Just my 2 cents.

    Don’t sweat this stuff Z. There will always be those that will stand on the dock as the boat sails off for uncharted waters, and complain about the color of the sails. In the grand scheme of things, it matters little what people say.

    Why in the world does it matter if people are negative?? You shouldn’t give a crap about their “negativity”. Everyone should and needs to create environments that will place them in positive positions in life if they don’t do that then it is their own fault and shame on them!
    As to you worrying about ANY negative comments about what you are doing with the blog, the magazine, products you like or use or your own fishing time, tell them that you will be more that happy to sit down and listen to them and take them under consideration when you are sitting as CEO of “Surfcasters Journal, INC and have finished you initial IPO with them investing several thousand dollars as shareholders. THEN and only THEN are you obligated or asked to listen to their “negativity”. Otherwise when you hear them starting to talk “negativity” just start nodding your head up and down and daydream about which rock, part of the beach, tide and time you will stand on next to try to catch that 60lbr this upcoming fall.

    Glad you got some time to fish. Ahh the night time solitude,with fish. Negative people don’t exist in my life for the most part. I won’t allow it. Keep up the great work and get out and fish some more. Thats what started all this right?

    this is a fun hobby. Just enjoy and have fun!!! If someone is not enjoying this sport maybe we suggest they move on and take their negativity with them. There is room for different approaches and equipment-just let me enjoy what I have… Its about the fish, the water, and occasionally catching, its about early morning breakfasts with friends at some diner. Z let it roll off you. Stay positive and don’t let people get you down!!!

    I look forward to reading the stuff that you put together more than anything else I read, and I will probably never fish in the northeast (too much to fish in the southeast). I can’t thank you enough for the heart and soul and passion that you put in to this!
