I talked to a guy who blew out 3 reverse cogs using braid, I asked him what drag tension did he use. He said he cranked it up to “keeper” tension, whatever that means. After fishing all those years with mono, I found that by translating that type of mono tension to braid I had no problems. I don’t believe there is enough info out there in regard to the physics of spool capacity and its effect on drag, i.e., the more line that is being taken off the spool the more drag increases…
Please consider a video on knots that you have had good luck with. I’m a relatively new surf fisherman and sometimes feel overwhelmed by the various choices of knots to select from. So, how about some advice on braid to reel, swivel to braid line and then leader to swivel and snap clip to leader.
