Everyone breaks a rod tip guide sometimes.
Surfcaster’s Journal Rod Guru Lou Caruso has a great idea about changing rod tip on location. You could (with no wind) change your tip on the rock !!! Ok, we would not really recommend that but you could.

Be very careful using a butane lighter to remove or replace a rod tip. The butane flame burns hot enough to melt the resin in a graphite rod. The replaced tip will break off in short order if you over do it. Been there done it twice %@!&**!. Better to go with a match, candle, or alcohol flame. If you use the butane just a quick wisk of the flame and repeat as needed.
