Have a nice weekend

By Zeno
what a nightmarish 24 hours…and still not getting much better

First I dropped a phone on LIRR on the way home. Fortunately the conductor found it and turned it in to lost and found. That was a  good part, getting my phone back yesterday afternoon.

But I cant get emails. So I called Verizon and they are at a loss. When I got home I realized why I am not getting any emails. The Cablevision email system is down. I must have a at least fifty emails floating around and God knows where they are. If you tried to contact me last few days, don’t get offended that I haven’t returned the call or an email. Truth is I have no access to either one. Of course my wife’s email on the same cablevision modem works perfectly. Its maddening I tell you. I got up this morning hoping they fixed the problem…no such luck…the nightmare continues

I will be signing off for awhile. I am hoping Tommy will keep you entertained and informed. I am also secretly hoping that the public hearing on July 21, 2010 – 7:00 p.m. Marine Resources Headquarters  205 North Belle Mead Road, Suite 1 East Setauket, NY will be well attended beyond my expectations. I guess we will have to wait and see but I sincerely hope that if you care about this issue you show up at this meeting and if cannot be there in person write a email stating your opinion.(if you can’t attend a hearing, please go to http://www/asmfc.org , click on “Managed Species” in the left-hand margin, then follow the links to the proposed Addendum II to amendment 6, and tell you how to send comments to ASMFC)

So far we don’t have a single entry for July STRIPERTHON 2010 contest…all you need is a decent fish and a witnessed photo to win some nice stuff and be eligible for all the wonderful prize at the end of the contest. Give it a little though next time you hook up. I know 20+ fish are hard to come by in July but I also know some of you are catching.

I am really excited about issue #4 of the Surfcaster’s Journal magazine, heck , I am excited about issue #5 too as I feel we managed to secure some great content. Having said that, we are always looking for contribution from our readers. Why? Because most of you are not writers…and we like that. We like the opinions and thoughts that came from passion and not from egos. By now you know what we are all about. If you have an idea that has been rattling in your head, drop us a line at info@surfcastersjournal.com

Seem a lot of interesting things are coming from ICAST show, I sincerely hope that we can attend it one day. Of course the fact that is in Las Vegas doesn’t hurt.

    Z,
I feel your pain. My email is down also. At least now I know it’s not something on my end. Thanks!

I’m hoping after they fix the cable problem, maybe they can fix the fishing here too! That’s been down all year! :(

I think new regulations are the only thing that are gonna fix the fishing problem, this year I have not kept one bass and only 6 blues…….. Jones inlet especially has been bad, I have managed to get 7 bass there this year! BAD! I did do the boat thing out of rockaway inlet…. it was crazy fishin! Bunker all over, fish all over and BOATS ALL OVER IT LOOKED LIKE TURTLE COVE IN OCTOBER DURING A DAYTIME BLITZ ON SATURDAY EXEPT ON THE WATER……..

    Bad weekend for me too…

On a boat, got skunked, the boat died, needed a tow got home $600 later only to find an actual skunk waiting on my friends driveway at 4a.m. for us.

The fact we went to a solid fishing spot that was hot two years ago and came home with nothing but a sand shark added insult to injury.

    LOL

just want to offer you continued encouragement for wonderful ongoing fishing resource, I so much enjoy seeing the updates thanks again

Dude, You’ll be in my evening prairs. Good luck with Verizon. You’ll need it. My wife made 5 calls, went through our story 5 times, and on the 5th attempt to get a supervisor they actually put her on with one instead of disconnecting the call.
